‘Biggest Loser’ Helps Others Lose Weight!

No we are not talking about the TV show here! In fact, it is not even about a participant on the TV show! It is about a participant-to-be, maybe in the 2011 season of the “Biggest Loser” series. However, Louis Constancio is a man who does not wait to lose weight.

As he had appeared for an audition for a spot in “The Biggest Loser”, one of the most popular reality shows on TV right now, Louis was hopeful. But he was cut from the auditions, and the disappointment of not getting through only made him stronger. Louis, as of now, has started off his own weight loss group, and has managed to tone down as well!

Losing a whopping 100 pounds within a year of starting up with the self-help weight loss group, Constancio is a man of his word. He had promised himself and his wife to lose weight and win his own war against obesity – and he has delivered. And has also inspired hundreds of other South Plains’ obese men and women on the way to his long road to fitness!

The fact that Louis could actually lose more than what participants on the show could lose, has been a revelation of sorts. A revelation that you can lose weight even without the constant glare of the TV cameras and the constant screaming of personal trainers.

And if Louis can, there is no reason you would not be able to too!

How Twitter Helped One Man to Lose 75 Pounds!

If you had heard of weight loss supplements and slimming pills taking the load off people’s waistlines, this news is going to intrigue you more! In fact, even the best of social media experts wouldn’t have thought that such sites could be the source of inspiration for nay individual to lose weight, let alone think about it!

Yes, you read it right – social media (Twitter) has helped a man in New York lose a whopping 75 pounds simply by posting updates for the same. According to Brian Stelter, a writer by profession, it was the automatic update of his weight on the social networking site that helped him become conscious about his weight issues, and thus move mountains to reduce it.

Losing 75 pounds was no easy task, according to the now-phenomenal-inspiration-for-obese-people on Twitter. Stelter had to exercise rigorously as well as maintain a strict diet that had low calories and less of fat – all for a long period of time before he could actually register any difference in his post-dieting waistline.

Now that he has lost so much weight, Stelter has expressed his desire to maintain the same. In fact, he has already ordered a tailor-made weight scale that would be publishing the status of his weight online. Talk about keeping your fellows motivated!

Do you think you would have benefited from such extreme modes of weight loss techniques? Or do you prefer to lose weight on your own, away from the public eye?

Let us know through your comments on the same here!

Who Are The Slim Jims?

Well, The Slim Jims, as convenient as it may sound, are not a band – but a weight loss club. So what is so special about them? Well, they are the only British all-male weight loss club, with a lone woman allowed on a weekly analysis – Jo Mc Connell, the group leader!

The group’s establishment, and sole goal, was to enjoy a good time with fellow comrades-in-arms while trying their best to lose the weight they have gained – through over-eating, illnesses or age. According to Jo, the group’s heavy demand and enormous following has roots in the basic fact that most obese men feel uncomfortable in front of women – while exercising or talking about their weight problems.

And according to the members, it is all about camaraderie and friendship while fighting collectively against their common enemy – obesity! Unlike most women, who either go to slimming classes or ask for slimming pills to achieve a certain goal – like fitting into a special dress or being able to flaunt their body in a bikini, men do not have such goals. They simply troop in to have a healthy life – along with that feeling of fellowship that they had enjoyed in their youth.

And the best part, they sya, is the absence of rivalry. So if members like Ian or George lost 2st or more, they are more of an inspiration to their fellow weight loss enthusiasts, rather than being at the jealous end of their friends!

So, if you are obese and don’t like to do the stiff exercises in front of giggling women, The Slim Jims and a strict diet (coupled with some authentic weight loss supplements) may help tone down to the slim figure you had always wanted!

Why the ‘Biggest Loser’ Has Had Mixed Reactions!

It is no surprise that “The Biggest Loser”, a reality show that focuses on quick and constant weight loss over a small period of time, has become immensely popular worldwide. And it has of course, inspired thousands of people to check into weight loss supplements and exercising units – which they wouldn’t have had the show not come on air.

However, not everybody is pleased with the theme and the leit motif of weight loss in the show. The fact is that rapid weight loss, with the kind of hard and strenuous exercise regimen advertised in the show can actually cause more damage than good for obese people.

From heart attacks to edema, from depression to fatigue, all of these factors can contribute to the deteriorating condition of an individual rather than slimming him/her down.

And this is not the only argument that critics and experts are leveling against the show. “The Biggest Loser” advertises quick weight loss, which is not tracked once the participant leaves the show. As it appears, a huge percentage of people gain on the pounds they lost on the “Biggest Loser” ranch, some weighing even more than they did before participating in the program.

So, even though it may all seem glitzy and starry, weight loss is not about a contest to be won or $250,000 to be pocketed. Your health is much more worth than the prize money offered on the show – any which way you may look at it. So consult your physician, choose the right weight loss supplements and exercise regularly.

For only these elements can help you lose the weight, and stay slim. Not some random contest on TV!
