Slimming Tips After Child Birth

Excessive weight gain during pregnancy is what every women panic about. Normally, a woman gains 25 to 30 pounds extra weight during her gestation period of which 12 to 21 pounds is retained even after the child birth. However, this weight gain depends on various factors.

Now, if all you new mothers want to get rid of this surplus flab, you need to be 100% committed. Getting back to shape after delivery is a touch ask and is undoubtedly time consuming but the good news is that it is not impossible.

Here are some tips that might help you out
. Try these and do not forget to tell how they worked for you.

Delivering a baby is the most strenuous job a women’s body undergoes. So, the first thing you need to make sure is that your body gets ample calories. Crash diet in this situation is not at all advisable. Surely, you need to cut down the excessive consumption of sweets, soggy and junky stuff but make sure you are not a right diet that not only sheds the excess weight but rejuvenates the lost strength.

Breast feeding your baby at least for the first twelve months can help you lose the excess weight you had put on. But while you are lactating make sure that your daily calorie intake does not drop below 1,800 calories and if you are on a low fat diet you need to add 500 calories more. The consumption of calories will help creating milk for your baby. So it is a must for lactating mothers to have lots of green leafy vegetable, cereals, fruits and dairy products to their diet.

Having a daily exercise routine can really help. It does not encourage weight loss but also helps you to overcome the post natal depression. But before you exercise, be sure to consult your doctor as in most cases exercise is not recommended before 6-8 weeks.

None of these tips can do miracle but I bet that they will prove helpful if you follow them continuously and patiently.

Doctor Talk Can Affect Weight Loss Objectives

How the doctor talks to you during your dieting regimen may affect the results of the weight loss program. If you thought this was gibberish, a study is here to prove you wrong.

While not all the doctors (only 70%) speak to their clients regarding issues relating to weight loss and bulging waistlines, there is a subtle impact on the patients. A study has revealed that the more motivational and positive a doctor is while he speaks to his patients on weight loss, the faster the latter sheds the flab.

Doctors who jab or confront their patients regarding their weight tend to be more prudent and do not lose as much weight as those under cheerful doctors. While some say this is a basic example of how human psychology works, others indicate patients find a companion in their doctors during their struggle to lose the inches around their waists.

If the doctor or the physician lends a kind ear to their troubles and motivates them or provides easy ways for weight loss, the patients find it easier to bear the troubles of slimming. And those who have judgmental people for doctors find it harder to burn those calories.

So if you were wondering why those sessions at the physiotherapist’s were not helping in killing the flab at all, try asking the doc to smile! It might help, for all you know!

Sleep Well to Lose Weight

Are you working late into the night to meet deadlines? Are you losing sleep over a recent break-up? If you are, chances are that your weight loss tactics may fall way short of their objectives.

A new study has revealed that the more one experiences loss of sleep, the more prone he/she becomes to instantaneous weight loss and bulging waistlines. While most people would have otherwise associated longer sleep hours with laziness and hence weight gain, they have been outright contradicted.

Sleep, as the researchers have put it at, is to recharge the batteries that have been spent during the day’s chaos. And the more you get of it, the more refreshed you happen to be it – and hence the more active.

Another reason that makes working or staying up late nights a no-no for weight watchers is the fact that these longer hours mean quick snacks and meals post dinner. While they do not seem to be much, they do add up – especially as you tend to go to sleep without walking around or being active so deep into the night.

Sleep deprivation may also lead to depression and mood swings, which again automatically lead to kicking the diet off the charts or munching on junk food too often to bide the time!

So if you thought fatigue was taking the charm off your life, go to sleep. Chances are that you will wake up merrier and a few pounds lighter!
