TV Star Host Drew Carey Sheds Weight, Profusely!

If you had been a fan of “The Drew Carey Show” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” you have to be a fan of Drew Carey. The likeable host and TV actor has had people in awe with his new thinner figure – proving that rumors of him being on a diet and shedding weight by the dozens was actually true!

Drew Carey himself has agreed that it is much better being thin and shapely, than being fat on camera. His apparent disgust at his weight gain and allied issues (like the Type 2 Diabetes he had when obese) got him onto a miserly diet, which consisted solely of egg whites and fruits.

The actor confessed of being completely off junk food, including sweets, pizzas and bread or beans. And he was probably helped into some harsh and stringent exercise schedules by his fitness trainer – which has resulted in a complete makeover (from the weight perspective at least) of his image.

Drew, with his stunning weight loss, has inspired hundreds of his fans to lose weight – especially through weight loss supplements and strict exercise programs, the best ways to lose the flab. And for someone as fat as Drew Carey had been, his latest image has to be one of the most inspiring images for burning the fat - ever!

So if you are one of those who find themselves on the wrong side of the obesity line, try Drew’s methodology. It worked for himno reason it won’t bring the same results for you too!

Biggest Loser Season 11 Casting Calls Start!

One of the most influential and perhaps motivating reality shows on TV for weight loss enthusiasts is “Biggest Loser”. The theme of the show (if you did not know it yet, you must be really off watching TV!) is to make participants compete against each other in a team or individually to win a prize money worth $250,000. And the winner is adjudged by the parameter of how much weight he/she has lost over the time period of the show.

While the casting call for Biggest Loser’s Season 11 has started off from 31st July, 2010, the winners and participants from earlier seasons were still praising the show for bringing about a positive change in their lives. For instance, Phil and Amy Parham, a couple who had participated in the show, were still going gaga over the show. They have also been called for a prestigious series of book signings and event schedules for the latest season.

As for the actual show, innumerable people who were complaining about their bulging tummies and increasing waistlines were inspired into slim-dom by the show. Apart from the viewers (obviously!), these included the participants’ friends and family, cast and crew members and people who had actually only seen the winners in the pilot episode and the final climax!

In the melee of mindless TV shows that only twist and churn the already vile state of mind of the masses, Biggest Loser comes as a relief. For not only does it sponsor and promote a healthy way of living, but also injects life into the participants – socially, monetarily as well as from an emotional perspective!

Calorie Count Will Not Boost Weight Loss – It’s A Fact!

IF you are too calorie-conscious, you may be doing more damage to your weight loss plan than helping it. In fact, reports suggest that people who do not include nutritious or satiating food products on their list because of their high calorie numbers, may be missing out on a healthy life after all the calculations.

Why? Because a lot of healthy diets include high-calorie foods like eggs or nuts – which may be high-calorie, but have high nutrition value too, something that you simply can’t ignore if you are looking for weight loss plans.

According to these reports, less than 40% of people know how many calories they ought to consume in a day, and the ideal difference or demarcation between high-calorie food and high-nutritional value edible products. While a small, restive girl can need only 1,200 calories a day, a national swimming champion may need 4,000 of the same – exemplifying how calorie intake can vary depending on circumstances.

The portion eaten in regular meals also vary, and so does the nutritional value. So if you thought a slice of pie had a said number of calories and so you can eat it, you are wrong! The slice can be bigger and more richly prepared, which negates all calculations – and also ignoring the omelet that seems high on calories but also high on nutritional value would become a bad but regular decision!

If you are one of those calorie crunchers, try and make sure that you do not get engulfed in the calorie hype and ignore the basics of weight loss – eat less, but eat healthy!

Obese Babies Are a Result of Over-Eating and Not Lack of Exercise!

Fat kids can be a real hard sight, especially if you are a parent yourself! And those of you who are worried that the whole health fiasco of increasing number of kids being obese or over the accepted weight margin, you yourselves as parents are to blame.

A study by a team of doctors and medical experts in the weight loss domain has come up with a revealing analysis as to why so many kids are getting fat. It observes that most of the kids who are fat are not so due to the lack of exercise but because of the fact that most parents over-feed their children, usually due to over enthusiasm and over indulgence of affection.

This also makes ripples in the government policy that has targeted the possible concern that kids do not exercise and hence are getting more obese buy the day. Schools were instructed to start better and more frequent exercise regimens to help curb the excess accumulation of fat around the collective waistlines of kids across the state.

Experts say that physical activity will certainly help, but will not root out the base problem of obesity among children and young adults. The study also advises healthy eating habits and a less frequent junk-food intake routine, this is especially applicable to young adults, who are more prone to hanging out with a box of French fries, hamburgers and soda by their sides.

Going for Weight Loss Surgery? A Little Company May Help!

For all those who had been weighing in on the option of a weight-loss surgery, wait up! Let a fellow family member, colleague or friend decide to take the plunge, and then do it together. Researchers have opined that this will provide better results than you would have expected, and you can enjoy the company as well!

A recent report from American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery has sent in an astounding conclusion from its research on 91 patients going under the knife to shed the flab. The study showed that a large percentage of people lost more weight when undergoing surgery along with a known person than all alone. This was a 30% difference in ones with family members while a whopping 40% when with siblings.

Dr. Slotman, the prime researcher in the study, has quipped that the fact that a same member of the family or friend is undergoing similar trauma and regimen helps cope with the situation. Moreover, mutual encouragement and stricter control over the diet plans help patients stick to Plan A, i.e. maintaining the weight loss program. Absence of such psychological and physical support from external elements is the main undoing factor in the case of weight loss surgery patients going loss.

So if you have an obese member, coax him into the weight loss surgery plan. And laugh your way to a fit figure together!
